Accountant - Stafford

Initial 12-month contract - likely to extend for the right person

Up to £17.75 per hour PAYE/Up to £23.50 per hour via an umbrella company

We’re looking for an Accountant to work full time on site in Stafford, within the Finance Team at a global supplier of world class engines. You’ll support the Staff Accountant and work closely with them, you’ll be hands on with data handling and completing transactional work.

Responsibilities for the Accountant will include:

  • Data handling & transactional work (e.g. Pass Journal entries/ Balance Sheet reconciliations)

  • Collecting data and creating presentations in PowerPoint

  • Analysing monthly results; comparing against budget, report variances

  • Capital Expenses both variable and period

  • Working closely in the preparation and review of accounting letters

What skill and experience will the Accountant need?

  • Relevant demonstrable Accounting experience e.g. data handling & transactional work experience (passing journals, closing books, capital expense)

  • Good working experience of Excel and PowerPoint – you’ll collect data & use it to create presentations in PowerPoint

  • A Team Player who enjoys supporting the team, and can also work independently

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A finance or accounting certification is desirable
