We are looking for a Lead Electronics Engineer to join an iconic British Company who operate on a global presence.

  • You will lead and participate in the design and development of all technical aspects relating to electronic design, to support continuous improvement and strategic change.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Electronics Engineer - Power & Embedded Electronics

  • Manage development activities and team resources to align with project programs and deadlines & drive continuous improvement for best practise design, guidelines & rules.
  • Provide technical guidance & support to team members. Improve capability of senior team members through development and KPI reports.
  • Engage with engineers and suppliers both internally and externally to ensure an optimised solution is engineered and support continuous improvement through innovation, commercialisation and business need.
  • Ensure that attention to detail, rectification of design error, and cost control, are considerations that you and your design teams have at the forefront of your minds when engaged on design work - for both new and existing products.
  • Represent your team at meetings with other internal and external stakeholders, and to ensure that the interests of the technology department are properly represented and promoted in an appropriate and respectful manner.
  • Regularly review documentation detailing system requirements, compliance, performance & validation in accordance with product specifications.

Key Skills & Experience required of the Lead Electronics Engineer - Power & Embedded Electronics

  • Significant knowledge (degree or other appropriate qualification essential) in electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Significant experience in power & embedded electronics for volume manufacture.
  • Commercial experience - such as negotiation techniques, supply chain management, customer relationship development, etc.
  • Previous small team management and leadership experience.
  • Current and emerging global safety standards.
  • Knowledge of standard production and manufacturing techniques.
  • Use of 3D CAD packages ideally Solid Works & Altium.
  • To provide technical leadership into all aspects of design work that falls within your Team.
