Desford (LE9) - Potential to work from home 1 - 2 days a week (once trained)

Initial 12 month contract - likely to extend for the right person!

37.5 hours a week and an early finish on a Friday!

Are you used to tracking deep sea shipments / containers, to ensure they arrive on time? Do you have supply chain experience within a Manufacturing Company? Are you hoping to find an exciting new challenge, in a fast-moving environment, within a globally renowned Fortune 100 company?

We’re looking for an Imports Planner to join our client’s busy global Supply Chain Team in Desford. This is an initial 12 month contract which is likely to be ongoing for the right person! For the first three months you will be based on site full time for training, after this there is a possibility to work from home 1-2 days per week. What will the Imports Planner do?

·         Coordinate required materials and parts with global suppliers

·         Liaise with suppliers to ensure their schedules meet the facilities requirements

·         Track deep sea shipments and ensure deliveries take place as planned

·         Check forecast accuracy and update plans/schedules as required

What skills and experience will the Imports Planner need?

·         Previous supply chain experience within a Manufacturing Company / Tracking deep sea shipments / Freight Forwarding / Imports experience

·         Previous experience liaising with suppliers as a customer or being a supplier liaising with customers

·         Competent PC user - Excel is key! You must be able to create pivot tables and use v lookups and if statements. Must be comfortable with using MRPs and learning different programs.

·         Excellent attention to detail and an analytical thought process - analysis of data is key.

·         Excellent communicator – you will need to build rapport & relationships with suppliers and colleagues

·         A fast learner who enjoys new challenges and is keen to develop and progress!

·         A team player who is also self-motivated, with the ability to solve problems independently and put measures in place to stop them from reoccurring

·         Power BI or SAP experience would be an advantage
