 Product Conformance Engineer

As an experienced engineer, you’ll understand how critical compliance is within the product development cycle; compliance with a whole range of different regulations and standards is crucial to our client’s business and they have engaged us to find someone with that depth of knowledge and understanding.

Our client is the world leader in their field, and they have just made available this new role on a contract basis to work within their diesel engine business.

What would you do?

•support the development of a family of medium sized diesel engines and associated products, ensuring that product regulations are met

•focus on all product regulations (except exhaust emissions) relating to diesel engines, batteries and hybrid drive systems

•Identify and agree the appropriate interpretation of product requirements

•Ensure timely completion of product compliance documentation

•Work with engineers and project leads to identify risks,

•Plan and drive activities to complete within program timelines

What are we looking for?

•An enthusiasm/interest in Safety and quality along with an ability to coordinate and track projects.

•Knowledge of batteries, drive control systems, and functional safety.

•An education in engineering, with a background in product development or validation.

•Self-directed and capable of handling and prioritising multiple projects, with an ability to successfully lead parallel work streams to firm timing and quality targets.

•Proven ability to build strategic working relationships, understand business constraints, and resolve conflict through compromise and consensus building.

•An ability and interest to review regulatory documents and engineering standards

•Experience in creation of product compliance documentation or validation reports, to demonstrate product compliance, would be an advantage.

The role will suit candidates with a background in compliance, product development, validation, project management or quality and will provide the opportunity to develop an understanding of product regulations and exposure to a broad range of engineering disciplines.
