Purchasing Assistant

Desford (LE9) - 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH

12 Month Contract - likely to extend for the right person!

37.5 hours a week (08:00-16:00 Mon-Fri)

Up to £15.20 per hour PAYE depending on experience (Umbrella rates also available)

We’re looking for a Purchasing Assistant to use their administration experience to assist Buyers within a globally renowned Fortune 100 building construction machines manufacturer in Desford. This is initially a 12 month contract, which is likely to extend for the right person!

We’re looking for a confident team player with experience in purchasing, who is eager to learn and thrives in a fast-paced environment - personality really will go a long way in this instance! What will the Purchasing Assistant do?

  • Support Buyers with their purchasing administration requirements
  • Varied work where every day is different, involved with many different categories & projects
  • Daily PO management - approve purchase orders, review requisitions for goods and services
  • Analyse financial reports, price proposals and other technical data
  • Work with external suppliers to expedite material in urgent situations

What skills and experience will the Purchasing Assistant need?

  • Purchasing Administration background - you’ll need to be able to provide admin support
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills - be able to clearly and confidently communicate with all parties
  • Data Analytics: this is essential as you’ll analyse financial reports and price proposals
  • Strong Excel skills (you need to be able to create pivot tables, v look ups, formulas)
  • An Eye for detail: the ability to pay attention to detail and spot errors is a must
  • Used to using MS Office suite. Knowledge of Coupa/Glovia/Power BI would be an advantage
  • Supply Chain/purchasing experience would be an advantage
