Peterborough (PE1) – Hybrid (3 days on site / 2 days WFH)
Initial 12 Month Contract – likely to extend for the right person!
37 hour a week, 08:30-16:45 Mon-Thurs, 08:40-16:15 on a Friday
Up to £28.65 per hour PAYE / Up to £38.50 per hour via Umbrella contract
Our client is a Fortune 100 world leader in the design, manufacture and support of machines for the construction industry and a world class range of engines. We’re looking for a Vehicle Electrification Systems Engineer to join their team responsible for the development integrated hybrid and/or electric powertrain systems.

What will the Vehicle Electrification Systems Engineer do?
- Work with other teams to gather and develop requirements for RED (Rapid Electrification Development) prototype machines and in-flight hybrid powertrain development programmes
- Design and development of the HV (>60V) and LV (12/24V) electrical systems, for these projects, in alignment with IEC 60204-1
- HV (>60V) and LV (12/24V) electrical schematic development
- Identification and allocation of appropriate ECM I/O to support the HV (>60V) and LV (12/24V) systems requirements
- HV (>60V) PDU (Power Distribution Unit) concept development and design including component selection (contactors, fuses, current sensors, connectors etc)
- Creation of HV (>60V) PDU validation schedule and activities
- Participation in electrical system FMEAs, documenting potential failure modes, identifying and completing design and validation actions and managing subsequent updates
- Computer systems you’ll use: Office, CAD packages, Circuit analysis such as Plecs.
What skills and experience will the Vehicle Electrification Systems Engineer need?
- 2 years+ background in hybrid and electrification powertrain technologies.
- Experience of systems integration, testing + validation of electric powertrain systems & components
- Knowledge of systems FMEA and validation plan creation
- Strong technical background - ideally a degree in mechanical, electronic, electrical, control systems or automotive engineering. Will consider experience a HNC or experience in lieu of this
- Ability to understand and develop customer requirements and objectives for the design and development of hybrid and electric powertrain
- Excellent communications skills and a strong customer focus
