Control Software Engineer

Peterborough, Hybrid

12 month contract, very likely to be extended for the right person

PAYE and Umbrella rates discussed on application

An opportunity to work on the latest Control Systems within Electric Powertrain, Hybrid and Diesel Engine Technologies.

Joining a team of 10 Engineers you will support projects which contribute to our client’s mission of delivering more sustainable power generation technologies.

As a Control Software Engineer, you will :

  • Design control algorithms using Matlab, Simulink or Stateflow to meet specific software requirements
  • Administer control system tuning, taking part of calibration actions on test benches
  • Oversee testing and validation of the control systems ensuring they meet the requirements
  • Manage FMEAs, including documentation of potential failure modes, recognise and complete design validation actions including relevant updates
  • Action troubleshooting to resolve any issues that might occur during engine or power systems running 

Skills and Experience required:

  • Background or knowledge of Diesel Engines/Hybrid Power systems would be highly desirable
  • Relevant Technical background in control systems, mechanical, electronic or automotive engineering
  • Previous experienced in Matlab, Simulink or Stateflow
  • Familiarity with FMEA and validation and plan creation
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
