NPI Manufacturing Engineer

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a Global Engineering Manufacturer at a really exciting and pivotal time. The initial contract assignment is 24 months, and the successful Engineer will be joining at the early stages of some major NPI projects - it’s certainly an opportunity to really make your mark bringing this facility in to the 21ST Century!

You will join a small and dedicated team where the key improvement focus is redesigning the shop floor that specialises in welding and machining. This includes improvements to production fixtures & tooling - including full robotic enclosures and developing new technology.

What we’re looking for from you as Manufacturing Engineer;

  • Demonstrable Project Skills - must be able to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Have a good understanding of product design to combine with process design expertise for improved manufacturability of parts and major components
  • Understanding of heavy machinery, fixtures, and tool development
  • Lean and 6 sigma mindset - root cause analysis would also be great
  • Mechanical background - knowledge of mechatronics would be hugely beneficial
  • Knowledge of welding, heat treat, manufacturing technology
  • Machine safety background is essential.

In brief what will you do;

  • Provides direction and guidance to other manufacturing personnel in a continuous effort to improve manufacturing productivity.
  • Works with suppliers (both internal and external) in the development of projects, which ensure the most efficient and cost-effective systems or operations to produce quality products.
  • Uses knowledge gained through years of experience to explain to suppliers the tooling, dies, fixtures, etc., needed to improve processes.
  • Provides leadership in the implementation of integrated technologies within the factory. Develops individual presentations on all integration projects and prepares and establishes priorities for cost effectiveness.
  • Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality, Part Quality, ISO 9000 Certification, etc.
