Automation Engineer - Engine Testing

Peterborough, Initially fully on site and after 2-3 months Hybrid

12month contract- very likely to be ongoing for the right person!

Up to £20.20 PAYE or £27.15 Umbrella

We are looking for a Automation Engineer to join our client’s Test Data Systems team, who are the driving force behind Test Automation and Data Acquisition Systems in power system development.

This is a great opportunity for somebody with 1+ years of experience who is looking to develop their skills further. If you have a passion in Electrical, Electronic or Automation systems – we want to hear from you!

As an Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Develop, test, and deploy new features within test automation platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in test automation systems
  • Collaborate with a global team of Product Owners, Software Architects, System Integration Engineers, and Automation Developers
  • Work with tools such as FEV Morphee, AVL Puma and Vector CANape

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Passion for automation and a commitment to continuous learning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Some experience or passion with scripting and/or coding in Python, C, C++, PowerShell (there is plenty of training and support!)
  • Familiarity with automotive test automation platforms and data analysis tools
  • Experience with engines, transmissions, or vehicle electrification technologies
