Commissioning Engineer

Our client, a specialist manufacturer who offers a unique combination of experience and ability in all aspects of engine, transmission, component and vehicle testing, has just made available a Permanent opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer to join their team based in Worcester.

The Commissioning Engineer role is open to both experienced and graduate/junior level engineers. It is varied and rewarding, offering opportunities to design forward-thinking solutions in dynamic environments while taking ownership of delivering systems confidently to customers.

This role is predominantly site based on various client’s sites throughout the UK, with roughly 15% office presence. 

Key Responsibilities of the Commissioning Engineer

  • Installation of hardware and software on site
  • Commissioning on site, ranging from small upgrades to full facility installation and commissioning including customer sign off
  • Conduct on-site system installations and troubleshoot issues as required.
  • Calibrate and configure PLC, IO, Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Perform PID tuning on in house and third-party controllers
  • Provide initial training to customers, in house and customer facilities
  • Undertake customer service visits, including calibration, fault finding, and rectification.
  • Provide support for customers remotely for diagnostics and fault resolution
  • for hardware and software
  • In House configuration and test of hardware and software

Qualifications and Experience Required for the Commissioning Engineer role

  • Solid understanding of Control SW/logic
  • Solid understanding of Mechanical/Electrical installations and fault finding
  • Experience of Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic and PLC Commissioning
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical schematics 
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Passport
