Component Development Engineer – Peterborough Hybrid working

The successful applicant will join the component engineering team of a world leading Engine OEM. A diverse and interesting opportunity where you will work with fuel and airpath components on some interesting failure modes that aren’t generally in the marketplace. You’ll be surrounded by new technology with the chance to see these products firsthand onsite!

Engineers should be experienced in performing several of the below:

There’s real component ownership required for this role so we’re looking for technical project leadership of the delivery of engine components & systems which includes;

  • Data analysis, development & validation 
  • Problem resolution on engine component and systems.
  • Assessment and data analysis of component / system level issues
  • Component supplier management and collaboration.
  • Conducting FMEA on components and systems
  • Support field and production issues, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions.

To be considered please ensure your CV reflects:

  • Strong technical background (technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications / experience will be considered.
  • IC engine knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated component ownership
  • Working with suppliers
  • Creating / maintaining FMEA
  • Executing DVP – component, rig and supplier testing
  • Working knowledge of APQP
  • Issue resolution
  • Ability to lead and deliver problem resolution projects for engine components or systems.
