Are you a design engineer looking for your next contract? Have you got experience of internal combustion engine component design? If so, an interesting design engineering contract has just become available to support our client’s latest projects.
You would contribute to the design and development of engines intended to meet the latest emissions legislation, whilst meeting world-class levels of quality and reliability. You will be part of a small, friendly team working to deliver programmes that are critical to the long-term success of a respected, global company.
What does the assignment involve?
Conducting technical project leadership of the delivery of engine components & systems, including problem resolution
Undertake the Design & Development of engine components
Perform component supplier management
Conduct analysis on data acquired from testing
Conducting FMEA on components
Conducting component and system design reviews
Support field and production issues
Through this assignment, the contractor will have an excellent opportunity to take part in, and have significant responsibility for, the end-to-end design & validation process for engine components and systems.
What are we looking for?
Strong technical background, including a deep understanding of Internal Combustion engine systems
Development / validation experience of engine components & systems
Demonstrable experience of collaboration with component suppliers, including a good understanding and application of APQP
Ability to lead and deliver problem resolution projects for engine components or systems
Working knowledge of Pro-E (CREO) 3D CAD system and Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience of running and participating in FMEA
A Good understanding of “Dimensioning and Tolerancing” standard ASME Y 14.5 2009
