Electrical Build Technician

Initial 12 Month Contract – Extensions likely

£16.55ph PAYE or £22.25ph Via an Umbrella company - could be more for more experienced candidates

How would you like to develop your Electrical skills within Engine Testing? We’re looking for an Electrical Build Technician to work in a Global Engine Test facility in Peterborough.

The opportunity involves the build and maintenance of, primarily, the load boxes for automated test equipment along with other manual test equipment which is used to test Engine and Machine controls and software!

Your duties will include;

  • Understanding and applying electrical schematic drawings and pinouts
  • The ability to assemble and mechanically build test boxes to a schematic drawing
  • The assembly of (non-production environment) cabling/harnesses to a schematic drawing and pinout e.g.: cutting and crimping terminals, soldering and the assembly of connectors

What we’re looking for?

  • An Electrical qualification/ apprenticeship
  • Solid practical capabilities in Electrical wiring

Desirable:

  • Previous Technical experience of Electronic/Electrical products or related Production systems
  • Previous experience of building Electronic/Electrical equipment and harnesses.
  • The ability to create technical sketches from the needs of the engineers
  • The ability to define the electronic/electrical/mechanical components required for the project
  • Fault finding and experience using hand held electrical measurement tools e.g.: multimeter and oscilloscope
