Electro & Mechanical Systems Development Engineer

Peterborough, Hybrid

Initial 12month contract, could be ongoing for the right person!

PAYE and Umbrella rates discussed on application

Great opportunity to bring your electro / mechanical system knowledge to a leading OEM and play a key role in the design and development of cutting-edge machine control system technology primarily for their globally renowned Compact Wheel Loader.

As Electro and Mechanical Systems Development Engineer you will :

  • Take part in designing, developing, and maintaining control systems into diesel and battery electric machines
  • Work on integrating sensors and data acquisition systems into the machines
  • Design control algorithms that help improve machine performance, fuel efficiency and safety
  • Oversee testing and validation of the control systems ensuring they meet the requirements
  • Contribute to FMEA, functional safety and product compliance requirements

Skills and Experience required for :

  • Background in Construction Equipment, Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical, Control Systems or Automotive engineering
  • Off- highway machine/engine/EV control system development preferred
  • Experience in DSpace, Canape, HIL testing would be desirable
  • Familiarity with Controller Are Network (CAN) and protocols like Ethernet would be advantageous
  • Self-starter and motivated person with a strong attention to detail
