Engine Test Technician

Peterborough

12 Month Contract – With Potential to Extend

Full-time, Onsite

£13.95 PAYE, £18.93 Umbrella + 20% Shift Allowance

Shift Breakdown:

This role operates on a 24/7 shift pattern. The rota follows a 28‑day cycle, working 14 days in total:

4 nights on → 2 days off → 3 days on → 2 days off → 3 nights on → 2 days off → 4 days on → 8 days off

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity within a Global Engine Development environment at a world‑class engine facility in Peterborough.

You will be working in a highly technical test and development team responsible for the validation, certification and continual improvement of current and future engine platforms. This is a hands‑on role with genuine exposure to new product introduction (NPI), certification testing and confidential long‑term development programmes, with project visibility extending well into the next decade.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Operating engine test beds
  • Installing engines into test cells
  • Executing test procedures
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical issues

What You’ll Need:

  • Previous experience in engine testing, motor vehicle maintenance or mechanical environments
  • Strong mechanical and fault-finding capability
