Freight Analyst

Desford LE9 (Onsite role)

12 Month Contract – likely to extend and be rolling for the right person

37.5 hours a week: 7-3 or 8-4 Monday – Thursday, 5 ½ hours with a 7am or 8am start on a Friday

Up to £16.86 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £23.09

We’re looking for a Freight Analyst to join our client’s Global Shipping department in Desford to provide administrative support to the Shipping team, initially on a 12 month contract which is likely to extend and be rolling for the right person!

What will the Freight Analyst do?

  • Support core functions of the Shipping team
  • Ensure freight invoices are only processed when the actual service has been provided
  • Process freight invoices related to inbound/outbound material which fluctuates in line with production volumes
  • Collate Metrics, analysis and general administration related to freight invoices and shipping performance
  • Focus on Continuous improvement and completing 1PD's to support process improvements

What experience does the Freight Analyst need?

  • At least a year’s experience in a similar administration role within transportation accounting background
  • Knowledge and understanding of Incoterms and Freight terms
  • Proficient Knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Access, Powerpoint & Word
  • Excel (create pivot tables, use v look ups & formulas), good data analysis skills within excel
  • Effective and confident communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation
  • Team Player – this is key as you will work closely with others to achieve agreed objectives
  • Good administrative skills as well as excellent organisation and time keeping skills plus an eye for detail and the ability to work very accurately and continually strive to improve processes
