Project Manager

Peterborough (PE1) – Hybrid (3 days WFH / 2 days in the office)

Initial 12 Month Contract – likely to extend for the right person!

Hours: 37 a week, Mon to Thurs 08:30 to 16:45, Fri 08:30 to 16:15 

Up to £27.40 per hour PAYE or £37 per hour Umbrella

Can you facilitate team meetings, ensuring everyone takes away their own action points and then delivers them by their required date? Have you used MS Project? Our client is a world leader in the design, manufacture and support of a world class range of engines, they are looking to extend their Project Management team in Peterborough, with an Operational Project Manager. You’ll be responsible for projects from cradle to grave; project planning from scratch, managing the project and team through the project plan. You could be involved in a number of different projects, where every day is different!

What skills and experience will the Project Manager need?

  • You’ll lead allocated projects to ensure they are delivered on time, to cost and quality - so will need demonstrable experience of this, ideally within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Must have demonstrable job-related experience
  • MS Project is required - must possess extensive knowledge of project management software
  • Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage stakeholders
  • Professional training in leading and facilitating meetings is highly desired
  • MS Office (Excel/Word/Powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Web Publishing tools
  • Good Excel skills are vital (complex formulas, linking multiple worksheets, pivot tables, graphs)
  • Will also require knowledge of other software tools such as project accounting systems
  • Project resource loading/portfolio resource management and project/portfolio cost management experience is highly desirable
  • Prince 2/PMP or equivalent qualification is highly desired
