Chard, Somerset - Permanent, Full time position

Salary £35,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)

We are looking for a Senior Approvals Engineer (Safety/EMC) to join an iconic British Company who operate on a global presence.

  • You will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support on all matters relating to global product compliance.

What would you do?

  • Be the “go to” person on global standards (safety/EMC) and legislation for our client’s products.
  • Manage test programs with external suppliers and testing organisations.
  • Work with R&D to ensure all new products meet the necessary standards.
  • Ensure compliance testing runs smoothly.
  • Provide product compliance guidance.
  • Technical file management; satisfying FCC, UL, CE, LVD, Machinery Directive, EMC, RoHS, REACH etc.
  • Manage the certification library of approved products.

What are we looking for?

  • You will have a track record of ensuring global product compliance for electrical FMCG products.
  • An excellent understanding of product compliance to international standards including EN, IEC, UL/CSA, FCC.
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and relevant compliance testing.
  • The ability to interpret technical documentation and clearly communicate requirements.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in internal auditing and management (i.e. ISO 9001, 17025) – desirable.
