Senior Design Engineer

Peterborough - Hybrid Working

Up to £44 ph via an umbrella company or £32 ph PAYE depending on experience

A unique Mechanical Design opportunity to get back to the core Research and Development of Engines and their power output!

Joining a global Engine OEM, we’re looking for a Concept Design Engineer to add value to programs which are dedicated to current and future technologies!

What will you do:

  • An experienced design engineer with knowledge of combustion engine systems
  • Create design concepts to incorporate innovative technologies into existing engines
  • Explore and collaborate over creative design solutions to improve engine performance and resolve existing issues.

To be considered please ensure your CV reflects:

  • Strong technical background
  • Design experience – ideally backed up with simulation and calculation skills
  • Collaboration skills to agree design proposals which balance the needs for performance and durability with cost and manufacturing requirements.
  • Good understanding of component manufacturing principles & processes.

Desirable:

  • Experience with hybridisation and electrification of power systems.
  • Experience in component and engine validation & verification.
  • Knowledge and use of Creo and Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of FMEA’s.
