Supplier Collaboration Engineer

Desford/Peterborough/Peterlee - 36 Month Contract

Up to £26.00 per hour PAYE/Up to £34.00 per hour via an umbrella company

We’re looking for a Supplier Collaboration Engineer to join a world leader in construction and mining equipment! This is a fantastic 36 month contract opportunity, working in the Drivetrain purchasing team who are responsible for the procurement and quality of components for transmissions and axles. You will be responsible for supporting both procurement (including supplier recovery plans) and quality activities (such as PPAP).

At the moment there is some flexibility around working hours and the role is mainly WFH/but will be based out of one of their following sites; Desford/Peterborough/Peterlee.

What would the Supplier Collaboration Engineer do?

  • NPI Procurement of Finished Drivetrain components (friction materials, gearboxes & driveshafts) including engagement in APQP process
  • PPAP’s for new components in conjunction with the Supplier Development Engineer & Engineering teams
  • Supplier recovery plans when suppliers are not meeting schedules in conjunction with facility supply chain teams
  • Creation of Root cause and actions, documented and implemented as well as presenting output to stakeholders
  • Travel: lots of travel will be required within Europe, visiting suppliers

What skills and experience will the Supplier Collaboration Engineer need?

  • Previous demonstrable experience of dealing with suppliers, PPAP and APQP processes, and knowledge of dealing with supply chain recovery plans
  • Ability to lead supplier facing elements, such as APQP projects, negotiations and managing strategic supplier relationships
  • Creation of Supplier Recovery plans for Assurance of supply
  • Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, presentation skills and managing stakeholders
  • Knowledge of manufacture of splines, mechanical engineering, CIPS – are all desirable
