Supplier Development Engineer

Are you an established Supplier Development Engineer with experience of working in a Lean Manufacturing environment? Do you have a firm understanding of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Root Cause Analysis and NPI processes?

If so, our client has a great opportunity for a Supplier Development Engineer to join their team in Stafford on an initial 6-month contract that is likely to be ongoing. Great rates of pay are on offer.

Job Duties of the Supplier Development Engineer will include, but are not limited to:
•Assess potential suppliers via on-site Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) Carry out audits, Implementation of Lean, BIQ, PPAP & APQP
•Review supplier capacity
•Be an expert in supplier quality and develop the metrics
•Collaborate work with suppliers.
•Ensure process control standards are in place and monitored, identifying improvement opportunities.
•Provide technical and strategic through lifecycle of projects.
•Monitor suppliers’ adherence to PCN (Process Change Notification)
•Develop the supply base to fulfil the client’s requirements
•Support the clients supply network strategies
•Review, Approve and validate 8D permanent corrective action plans

Qualifications and experience the Supplier Development Engineer will have:
•Minimum of HND in and Engineering discipline and a min of 5 years working in an Engineering environment.
•Previous experience of Managing Supplier Quality and Development
•Demonstrable experience of Supplier Investigation Tools
•In depth knowledge of APA, NPI, Gateway conformance, PPAP
•Ability to drive Key Target Initiatives with Supplier (QCLDM)
•Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
•Willingness to travel to Supplier’s (UK and Overseas).
