Design Engineer – Engine Components - Stafford / Hybrid Working

Minimum of 3 days on-site working per week (must include Wednesday and 2 other days)

Initially 12 month - very likely to be extended and ongoing for right person

Competitive Hourly Rate - Umbrella OR PAYE

You will design and develop engine components and systems to release to production in a timely manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, optimised cost, and serviceability.

Job Responsibilities & Duties of the Design Engineer – Engine Components

  • Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
  • Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
  • Leading and supporting DFMEA and DVP&R creation.
  • Provides effective technical solutions to routine functional challenges via sound technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
  • Release of product designs into engineering systems to a high quality and defect free standard.
  • Leads the design, analysis, and simulation elements. Prepares and maintains personal plans and is responsible for meeting scheduled dates.
  • Prepare presentations and to share proposals and solutions with other members of the organisation.
  • Be single point of contact to the “Cost-Down” project team and be the engineering lead within that group.

Skills and Experience required of the Design Engineer – Engine Components

  • Requires a bachelor degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum plus 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to gain a mastery of complex engineering and manufacturability concepts.
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
