Materials Planner

Stafford (ST16) – based full time on site

Initial 12 month contract – potential to extend for the right person!

37 hours a week with a lunchtime finish on a Friday: Mon – Thurs 8am - 4.30pm, Fri – 8am - 1pm

Up to £22.05 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £29.93 - depending on experience

We’re looking for a Materials Planner to join our client’s busy global Supply Chain Team in Stafford. This is an initial 12 month contract which has the potential to extend for the right person! What will the Materials Planner do?

  • Coordinate required materials and parts with global suppliers
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure their schedules meet the facilities requirements
  • Ensure deliveries take place as planned
  • Check forecast accuracy and update plans/schedules as required
  • Assignment may require up to 5% travel to UK suppliers (very local, no more than circa 2 hours travel)

What skills and experience will the Materials Planner need?

Essential:

  • Previous supply chain experience within a Manufacturing Company. Tracking deep sea shipments / Freight Forwarding / Customs or Imports experience would be advantageous
  • Understand principles of Material Planning is essential.
  • Previous experience working with suppliers; able to speak with suppliers + build relationships quickly
  • Competent PC user
  • Must be comfortable with using MRPs and learning different programs
  • Excellent attention to detail and an analytical thought process - analysis of data is key
  • Excellent communicator – you will need to build rapport & relationships with suppliers and colleagues
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service with a proactive approach and good time management

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in material control, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, operations and transportation or logistics
