Senior Design Engineer - CREO

Location: Peterborough – Onsite

Rate: up to £37.80p/h PAYE (plus Holiday & Pensions) OR £51.30p/h Umbrella

Contract: 24-month assignment, with potential for extension

Hours: 37 per week Mon–Thu: 08:30–16:45 Fri: 08:30–16:15 (Some flexibility on start/finish times can be discussed)

This Fortune 100 global manufacturer is investing heavily in the next generation of industrial power technologies and is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to help drive that innovation. You will be taking ownership of complex engine component design used across industries worldwide, working closely with experienced international teams and advanced manufacturing sites. It is a fantastic opportunity to influence major programmes, solve meaningful engineering challenges, and play a key part in bringing new products to market!

What Will The Senior Design Engineer Be Doing:

  • Designing cylinder heads and blocks, delivering full layout and detailed production-ready models
  • Ensuring designs meet functional, durability and customer requirements across global teams
  • Leading project deliverables and contributing to sub-project planning
  • Conducting design reviews, risk assessments and FMEAs
  • Producing drawings and documentation to internal standards for prototype and production release
  • Working with suppliers using APQP tools and processes

What Will The Senior Design Engineer Need:

  • Expert CREO10 modelling skills, including complex surfaces and cast engine components
  • Strong knowledge of interacting engine systems (rotating, valvetrain, lubrication, cooling, sealing)
  • Experience with casting and machining processes for cast iron components‑iron components
  • 4+ years’ CAD based design experience and a relevant technical qualification‑based design experience and a relevant technical qualification
  • Understanding of component manufacturing, assembly principles, and engine component design
