Design Engineer - Electrification

Peterborough (site based)

12 Month Contract (possibility of being extended)

37 Hours a week Monday- Friday

Up to £26.93p/h PAYE plus holiday and pension contribution OR up to £36.56p/h Umbrella

 

The Electrification Development team is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototype machines.

 

Do you have Mechanical and Electrical design experience in a product development environment?

Do you have Design and integration experience, ideally involving machine, vehicle, industrial or electrified systems?

Do you have proficiency in Creo and the ability to create engineering models, drawings and supporting documentation?

What the Design Engineer - Electrification will do:

·        Support concept and detailed design activities for electrified machine systems and subsystems.

·        Develop and maintain engineering models, drawings and design documentation.

·        Support mechanical packaging, electrical integration and machine-level design activities.

·        Work closely with project, build and validation teams throughout the development process.

·        Investigate technical issues and implement practical engineering solutions.

·        Participate in design reviews, prototype builds and engineering change activities.

·        Support machine build, commissioning and validation programmes as required.

·        Work across multiple projects and priorities within a dynamic development environment.

What the Design Engineer - Electrification will need:

·        Mechanical design experience within a product development environment.

·        Electrical design and integration experience, ideally involving machine, vehicle, industrial or electrified systems.

·        Proficiency in Creo and the ability to create engineering models, drawings and supporting documentation.

·        Pragmatic, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems.

·        Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing prototype environment.

·        Self-motivated and able to take ownership of tasks with limited supervision.

·        Strong communicator and collaborative team player.

·        Able to work effectively across design, build, validation and project teams.
