Are you an engineer who enjoys working with customers, understanding technical challenges and developing the right solution?
We’re supporting an established, employee-owned engineering manufacturer looking for an Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between Sales, Engineering and the customer.
You’ll provide technical pre-sales support, helping to translate customer requirements into system architectures, specifications, drawings, BOMs and product configurations that enable accurate quotations and successful project delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Understanding customer requirements and proposing technical solutions
- Creating system architectures and technical content for quotations
- Producing specifications, 2D drawings and general assembly drawings
- Creating BOMs and product structures within the ERP system
- Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, Purchasing and suppliers
- Coordinating technical approvals and maintaining accurate documentation
- Supporting product configuration, change control and continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a customer-facing technical or engineering role
- Strong technical documentation and system design skills
- Experience using AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar software
- The ability to explain complex engineering information clearly
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills
- Knowledge of electrical systems, AC/DC circuits, EMC principles, ERP systems or product configuration would be particularly useful
