We're recruiting for an innovative, employee-owned engineering manufacturer that designs and builds specialist electro-mechanical equipment for industrial applications.
TheRole
As a Specification Engineer, you'll act as the vital link between Sales, Engineering and Production, transforming customer requirements into accurate technical specifications, drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documentation. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects move smoothly from quotation through to production, helping deliver high-quality products on time and to specification.
KeyResponsibilities
- Create technical specifications, GA drawings and supporting documentation
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product structures within the ERP system
- Prepare manuals, work order documentation and configuration files
- Obtain drawing approvals and coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal teams
- Maintain engineering records, drawings and product documentation
- Support engineering change control, version control and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure documentation is complete and ready for manufacture
What We're Looking For
- Experience using AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, EPLAN or similar 2D CAD software
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and technical documentation
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable:
- Electrical Engineering qualification (Level 3 or 4)
- Knowledge of AC/DC systems, electrical schematics and control panels
- Understanding of EMC best practices and wiring layouts
- Product configuration or engineering change control experience
