Project Quality Engineer

Up to £27.73 PAYE / £37.64 Umbrella + holiday pay + pension

12-Month Initial Contract

Fully Onsite | 36.5 Hours per Week

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am to 4:00pm, with an early finish at 12:00 every Friday!

We are currently recruiting for a Project Quality Engineer to join a leading global manufacturer in Peterlee on an initial 12-month contract.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of supplier quality, manufacturing, procurement and supply chain projects. You'll play a key role in supporting supplier quality initiatives, new product introductions, continuous improvement activities and supplier development programmes while working closely with both suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities across multiple projects

• Support NPI, Continuous Product Improvement and New Source Introduction programmes

• Manage project timelines, milestones and key deliverables

• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain teams

• Drive APQP activities through to PPAP approval

• Support supplier selection, development and performance improvement

• Identify and mitigate supplier and project risks

• Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

• Strong Supplier Quality experience within a manufacturing environment

• Experience working with suppliers, procurement and supply chain functions

• Knowledge of APQP and PPAP methodologies

• Strong project coordination or project management experience

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of SAP, Teamcenter, or Power BI would be advantageous but is not essential

Desirable

Experience within:

• Automotive, Aerospace, Rail, FMCG, Heavy Engineering or Pharmaceuticals
