Stress Lab / Component Test Technician
Peterborough – Onsite
12-month contract – with potential to extend
Monday to Thursday, 08:00–16:30; Friday, 08:00–13:00
Up to £15.10 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution, OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £20.50

What You’ll Be Doing
- Following documented work instructions using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
- Supporting engineers with technical investigations on engine components and systems
- Operating test equipment and running test rigs to collect and summarise data
- Recording results using charts, tables, sketches, photos, and software tools
- Working directly with components in lab and test environments, including data measurement
- Laying strain gauges, setting up instrumentation, and capturing test data
- Carrying out soldering work on electronic components
- Using ultrasonic bolt monitoring equipment and performing slip torque testing
What You’ll Need
- Strong experience using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment
- Ability to lay strain gauges and set up instrumentation
- Proven soldering experience
- Experience working with electronic compounds
- Ability to use ultrasonic bolt monitoring equipment
- Ability to perform slip torque testing
- Ability to read and follow technical procedures and engineering drawings
